[sticky post] Friends Only

My journal is mostly friends-only. I dont post very often and when I do, it is usually just things I can see. But, I figured I should put this up anyway. Because . . . that's polite?

Fic: Quick Fix (Harry/Zayn)

Title: Quick Fix
Rating: R
Pairing: Harry/Zayn
Word count: 2272
Summary: All of Harry and Zayn's interactions were seemingly tinged with something – not quite ill-will but definitely far from friendly.
Author notes: Written for this prompt on the Zarry ficathon which I claimed AGES ago. So, apologies, especially to clearlybeloved for taking forever, and also for writing something that only vaguely resembles the prompt. Completely unbeta'd, so please tell me if you spot any errors! The title is a reference to Miguel's song Quickie.
Disclaimer: I definitely don't own One Direction. If you know any of these people, please hit the back button and try to forget that you ever saw this.

Zayn couldn't fucking stand HarryCollapse )

Writer's Block: Boldly going

Which fictional world would you choose to visit, and why?

Since I refuse to think of the magical world of Harry Potter as being "fictional," I'm going to go with Narnia.
I don't really like the Chronicles of Narnia. That was just the first fictional world that popped into my mind.

Writer's Block: Star struck

Why do people care so much about the private lives of celebrities? Is it idol worship, schadenfreude, or something entirely different?

I care so much about the private lives of celebrities due to the simple fact that there is no drama in my own personal life.
Except with Lady Gaga. I care about her personal life because I wanna fuck her.

Writer's Block: Thumbs down!

What are your least favorite book and movie genres? Are you willing to make exceptions? Do you ever feel left out of social events/discussions owing to atypical taste in movies/books?

This is a difficult question for me to answer, seeing as I'm willing to give just about any genre a shot. I probably shy away from horror the most, but a good plot will still draw my attention. I can't do a straightforward gore fest, though. Especially when it comes to books. My imagination tends to make everything that much worse, and I have been known to have nightmares.
Occasionally I'll feel left out over my book taste. My best friend is much more versed than I when it comes to books, and occasionally she will reference a book I've never read and I'll be too ashamed to admit my lack of knowledge. It's completely stupid, I know. However, during my childhood, I spent most of my time reading Harry Potter and sci-fi/fantasy, so any book by a Russian author tends to go right over my head. (Except for Anna Karenina, but I like to pretend that that novel also perished in front of a train). At this point in my life, I am trying to read a lot of "classics" (Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, Shakespeare, African American authors such as Toni Morrison, etc), which a lot of my friends find boring. I don't know. This was quite a rambling post.

Writer's Block: Love is deaf

Could you spend the rest of your life with someone who had horrific taste in music? How important is it to you to share your love of music with a good friend or romantic partner?

I think it would be very important for me to find someone who had good musical taste. But then again, I have a pretty odd musical collection, mostly mainstream pop, hip-hop and reggaeton. What would probably be more important for me is to find someone who doesn't hate on my musical preferences, the way some of my friends tend to do. Ideally, my musical partner would love to dance, and we could share songs that are great to dance to.

Writer's Block: My Daily Internet Routing

What's your daily internet "routine"?

First I check my e-mail (Yahoo and my college account), then I log onto tumblr. After that, I'll check my favorite fashion blogs and post some of my favorite images onto tumblr. Then I'll check my livejournal and occasionally post something. After that, I'll do some homework or just generally goof off.

Writer's Block: Change is good

If you could change one major thing about your life, whether a relationship, your job, your living situation, your school, etc., what would it be? Are you currently working toward a serious life transition?

The aspects of my life that I am unsatisfied with are the ones I don't really have any control over. I hate that I don't start at my university until January, and that I've been pissing away time and money at a community college, but it was the university's decision to admit me for spring semester, not fall. I would love to have a higher paying job, but despite the fact that I have sent applications to numerous places, I have yet to find better work than the internship I work at part-time. Other than these two things, though, I am pretty content with the direction my life is going. I am in school, I am working, I am dating. I have my friends, I'll be eighteen in six days and soon I actually will be at my dream school. Everything else is just quibbling over details.

Writer's Block: Gone Too Far

What is the scariest incident with drugs or alcohol you’ve witnessed or personally experienced? How did it change you?

Just this past week I went to LoveFest, a rave/electronic festival in San Francisco. As I was there, I couldn't believe how many drugs were available for consumption. It was easier to find drugs than alcohol. However, while I was there, I walked by multiple people vomiting on the street. I saw one boy rolling around in his own vomit, all the while still puking. I also saw a completely unresponsive man being put on a stretcher, and saw many more ambulances throughout the day. It was jarring. Like many other teenagers, I have done a little experimenting. However, it's one thing to take a sip and a completely other thing to drink or do drugs to an excess. I never want to lose control over who I am. I don't want to be that girl rolling around on the street, dress up as she pukes. I learned that while at this festival.

Writer's Block: Most memorable concert

What was the most memorable concert you ever attended? What made it so magical?
I've only been to like, three concerts in my life, but the most memorable would have to be the Honda Civic Tour concert I went to featuring Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship, Paul Wall, and The Academy Is. At the time, these were all of my favorite bands (excluding Paul Wall) and I was just excited to be there. I danced during the whole thing, even though everyone around me was looking like, "WTF is that girl doing." It was just a fun time.
